Back in 2015 I had the opportunity to work on Xbox’s Forza Motorsport 6. It was revolutionary at the time because not only did it have all of the classic cars and tracks that players had come to love, but the team added physics based weather elements which ended up being a real gamechanger for the project.
I worked on the environment team. It was my responsibility to make sure that the track implementation was completed on time. I also worked with the other departments to integrate the tracks into the game. In addition to the day-to-day work of making racetracks, I also created and maintained an internal wiki that tracked all of the modular reusable track props that could be used on every track in the game. For instance: tire stacks, guard rails, and even bleachers.
